With days this gorgeous, it’s incredibly difficult to stay indoors. Even with finals coming up and moving out of the dorms for the final time, it just got to be too much and I decided it was time for a quick break to enjoy the beautiful weather outside. Instead of just laying out in the backyard, I wanted to get up and move around so I made the trek down the hill to the wonderful Putnam Park.
Before I even started my freshman year here, a couple of my new found friends brought me along for a night hike along the trails. Since then, I have found plenty of opportunities to take some walks down in Putnam Park. It’s so great because it’s not super strenuous and the views are just breathtaking. You can stop at Putnam Rock overlooking the Chippewa or you can continue down until you get to the open fields where you can get right up to the water’s edge. Any time of day, this Putnam Park is a great way to spend some time with friends or even on a nice little solitary walk to contemplate and enjoy nature.
