Some days it’s almost illegal not to get ice cream. With the sun shining and people outside, there’s nothing better than stopping by your favorite little ice cream shoppe and getting a treat to cool you off. I’ve always been quite partial to Dairy Queen, so after a nice long walk on the trail, my friend and I decided to get a Blizzard.
The thing that I really like about the Dairy Queen in Eau Claire is that it’s such an old fashioned style restaurant. Many of the decorations and advertisements are originals and that means the menu is authentic. Also, a small Blizzard here is the same size as a medium back home- YUM! They have all the favorite flavors and classic ice cream treats and great food, which is something I think a lot of people forget about when it comes to DQ.
Also, for days like today, it’s great to sit up front on the big stone steps or grab a seat at this little shaded area off of the parking lot. It’s not too far from Carson Park either and all of the great little trails. My friend and I actually went on a little walk as we ate our Blizzards. It’s a great place to stop by for a quick bite or to spend some time and everything about it just screams summer.
